Okay, since I haven't done a "crazy office lady" update in a while, i figured now is a good time. i've got a lot of new crazy stuff to fill you in on. (this should be good)
Hmm, where to begin?
Okay, I know. A few weeks ago R was out shopping at some store. Apparantly she fell down. She didn't trip, she didn't lose balance, she just fell. she had this horrible bruise all down her leg, which she felt the need to show us repeatedly. Now, I don't know if i ever told you what she looks like, so here is a description for you. (i wish i had a picture, but i don't - maybe one day)
Anyway, she is about average height but overweight and pear shaped. She has short hair that is dyed sort of brown and blond. she is 61. R has a habit of complaining about her weight, but she is constantly eating. when she complains she acts as if we don't see her sneaking food into her office like 5 times a day. she blames her eating on blood sugar. So picture this woman, overweight with very significant legs pulling up her skirt to show us her nasty bruise on her leg like 5 times a day! It is uncalled for.
So, because of this fall, she is calling the store and their insurance company quite constantly at work. she is supposed to be doing regular work but instead chooses to be on the phone with all these other people instead. everyone in the office notices and people are getting annoyed. we all take our jobs seriously (well, sort of anyway, and definately more than she).
So then, like last week, she was walking around the plaza we own and she does the same thing, she falls. no one sees her and she immediately wants to file an incident report and go to the dr the company has with the worker's comp or whatever. This time she hurt the other leg and her side. she keeps showing the leg to us again like last time and we really don't care! Again with the phone calls all day to the insurance companies and all. (oh, and the day she fell, she immediately went to dr). well, it winds up after all this that she cracked a rib when she fell.
now this is all over, or so we thought. we get a call from her mother's work. (her mom volunteers at a school) Her mother has fallen over a chair and the ambulance is coming to take her to hospital. so of course, she is on the phone all day because of this. talking to her daughter, mother, brother, sisters. unbelievable. I don't know if she did any work at all that day.
this is the point. she is getting worse. Now not only is she wounded and talking all the time to drs., her mother is wounded too and she is dealing with her drs. as well! i hear her on the phone constantly to them all.
so, i bring it to the manager's attention because at this point she is on the phone like 2 times an hour on personal calls. the manager said she had noticed and so had the boss, so can i track her calls?! so, now i have to write down everytime i hear her on the phone so we can track it. i feel all james bondish and it's fun!
Besides that, yesterday was "Administrative Professionals Day". When i arrived at work my manager and property manager gave me the nicest gift. it is one of those little bamboo plants. it is in a square oriental style pot (not ornamental, but oriental) and instead of stones in it, it is all broken up pieces of glass. all different colors and there is a budda in it too! Then for lunch, our Leasing Coordinator brought me for burgers and i got a long lunch which was great for a change. then later on, our big boss surprised all us ladies with roses! beautiful roses mind you and they smell great too! now, the point really was that since my managers got me the plant and didn't ask R to go in on it, she got all upset about it. she was like "D, why didn't you tell me about that, i would have gone in on it with you two." and D was sort of like, "oh well, it was late when we remembered and you weren't here." but i know she really meant, "why the hell would i ask you, i hate your guts and think you should be fired!".
so that is all for now. she is still talking to herself all the time in her office and generally wreaking havoc in the office. i can't wait to see what comes next.
